Movin' on Up...

Literally. Lily was promoted to the 8th floor today, which was a complete surprise to us. Her doctor said that Lily has actually been stable enough to make the move for the past week or so, but she had been fighting it to keep her downstairs. It is still a Level II NICU, but set up a little different. Lily is now in her own room and the nurses are at a station with a set of rooms surrounding them. So, tonight, we are hoping that Lily does not get lonely by herself. Holley was able to visit the Eighth Floor before the move and I think it made her feel better. At least now when we visit we will get much more privacy and maybe it will feel like we have her to ourselves.

We also learned today that Lily has unfortunately developed Stage 1 Retinopathy of Prematurity. This is a disease of the eye that in severe cases could lead to major vision problems or even blindness. Her doctors have assured us that Stage 1 does not lead to blindness or major vision problems, and they also do not expect it to progress. The opthamologist is scheduled to come back in two weeks.

Lily continues to require around 28 - 32 % O2 levels, which is OK. We are really praying and looking forward to the day that she is stable enough to be removed from O2.

Would you please join us in praying for Lily's ROP to resolve itself and not progress, that she is able to wean off of Oxygen, and that we handle the transition upstairs well.

Thanks so much!

Congrats Lily for your move! Much prays coming your way for continued progress. One of the twins got ROP at 4 wks and after one surgery, he doesn't even require glasses. Lily will be fine! Hang in there gang! Much Love, Suzie Carter-Hardin and family
