That's right...Lily hit 2 lbs. last week and last night was 2 lb. 4 oz. What a long way she has come since birth. It is so cute to see her now as she is starting to put on weight, she is maybe even starting to get a little fat roll on her arm. Even though we can't spend all the time with her, we have learned so much about her over the past six weeks. For instance, she LOVES tummy time, can't stand to be woken up, doesn't really like dress up yet (you will see this in the Halloween pictures), she likes to make her mom nervous, she loves to be held, and is definitely going to be a great little sister.
Lily has been sending home "happies" to Thomas (thanks Laura and Whit) as we are trying to make Thomas excited about having a little sister. He doesn't fully get it, but today he said he wanted to give Lily a present and he constantly asks if we are going to the hospital to visit Lily.
Lily is still on CPAP and her oxygen concentrate necessary continues to lower and be stable. This is good news as the doctors will soon begin to try and wean Lily off of CPAP. The opthamologist is also scheduled to visit Lily this week to check for proper development of her retinas.
Halloween was a lot of fun, Thomas dressed up as a doctor and we did plenty of trick-or-treating and Holley was also able to dress Lily up in her first Halloween outfit. Thomas might have a clear path as a politician with his front door manners; hugging mamas, and kissing babies. Seriously, we had to bribe him to leave some front doors as it seemed he was trying to strike up a conversation. Also, given the opportunity to request a certain number of candies, he said "FIVE" with such great confidence.
We have really been blessed over the past six weeks through our church and the sermon series our pastor is preaching through. The series is titled Consider: Discussions on Faith from the Gospel of Luke. It has really been tremendous to see and relearn just who Jesus is and what true faith in him looks like. If you are interested, you can download the sermons by clicking HERE.
I will leave you with a passage of scripture from the message this morning. The entire passage was Luke 12: 13-34.
(22) And he said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. (23) For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. (24) Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! (25) And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? (26) If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?

Oh, Wow... Isn't it amazing how God meets us right where we are, and gives us just what we need! Luke 12 spoke to me tonight as I read your update... and am feeling anxious about the election. I am sure each day during the last 6 weeks, y'all have felt anxious. Sometimes, all we have left is faith. Let's all rest tonight in God's promises...
Goodnight! Praise God for Lily's weight gain and progress!
Love the pictures!
